Apple announced the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus at their Hey Siri Event on Wednesday 9 September. These iPhones share the same exterior designs as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and continue Apple’s excellence for hardware and software innovation.

New Colour – Rose Gold
Ladies (and some gents) will be happy to know that the new iPhones will be available in a Rose Gold finish. The bezel around the screen will remain white, like on the Silver and Gold models. And with a Rose Gold iPhone, what better accessory is there than a matching Apple Watch?

New Gesture – 3D Touch
Apple revolutionised the way we access and interact with content on our iPhones with multi-touch – tap and swipe gestures with one or more fingers. Now they are doing it again with 3D touch – a force press on the display to peek and pop. Additional gestures are always welcome, when accessing content on the go and don’t have the luxury of time and space.

New Camera – 12 Megapixel Photos and 4K Ultra HD Video
The new camera sports an increased pixel density to 12 megapixels and internal improvements to preserve colour accuracy and auto-focus time. With the improved camera, 4K video capture is supported. 4K video is the next generation standard in HD video and is also known as Ultra HD video. The front camera has also been upgraded to 5 megapixels for even crisper and clearer selfies (so get your face enhancing apps ready for the additional lines and blemishes smoothing). The argument for having a small compact camera is getting harder and harder as the iPhone’s camera technology continues to improve by leaps and bounds.

New Mind-blowing Feature – Live Photos
Apple has a real knack for creating something that no one asked for and turning it into something that we can’t live without. No one fully saw the potential of the iPhone in 2007 or the iPad in 2011, and now we can’t do without them. Well folks, Apple are again set to give us all something that we didn’t ask for, that we’ll fall in love with once we have it – Live Photos. Now, the smarty-pants in the room will be saying “What’s so special with Live Photos? They are just videos!” and on face value, perhaps they are, but their execution is really magic. Take a photo and it appears like a still photo. 3D Touch that same photo and it comes to life. It’s like something you’d see in a movie about the future or a fantasy world. This will change the what people experience photos forever. Thank you Apple.
